Wordpress is primarily a blogging tool. It is FREE and you can either download it from the Wordpress site (www.wordpress.org) or from the Fantastico Panel that comes bundled with our CPanel hosting.
Even though it is a blogging tool, with the latest release they have added the functionality to have 'static pages', which are just like normal html pages and it has expanded the scope of what can be done with Wordpress tremendously.
On the Wordpress site is also a support forum and the documentation is also quite extensive.
Like Mambo, there are also enough templates available to keep you busy for hours and hours (this one.. no.. this one!). A particularly good sites for templates is: http://www.alexking.org/software/wordpress/theme_browser.php. New templates also get added on almost a daily basis and their look and feel are quite varied.
The one thing about Wordpress that you have to keep in mind though is that the template layouts are pretty tied into the template itself. It is more difficult to add little modules and sections than with Mambo.
