If you thought that the only pyramids in the world are those located in Egypt and South America - well you might stick with conventional wisdom but you MIGHT just be wrong.
The reason I am so ambivalent about coming right out and saying there are pyramids in Bosnia is that, well, there might be and there might not be...
How can something as big as a pyramid be a 'maybe pyramid'... read on.
We recently came across the phenomenon of the 'Bosnian Pyramids'. There are numerous websites devoted to them. The question being posed is: Are they real?
The problem is that they are covered in plant growth, and have for years been considered to be part of the natural rock formations in the area of Visoko, in Bosnia.
Until recently, when a maverick amateur argcheologist, Semir Osmanagic, came up with the idea that it constitutes an ancient artificial edifice. The reason why it is turning into an archeological dispute is that the 'establishment' refuses to take Osmanagic seriously - one of the reasons possibly being that he claimed in a book about the Mayans that he wrote that: "the Maya and others are descended from Atlanteans who came from the Pleiades"
As one sceptical entry on a website read:
"It's either one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of our time, or man has made a giant pyramid out of a molehill."
But why don't you judge for yourself:
