In this tutorial we are going to go into the techniques of updating your content in a bit more detail. We will give special attention to the WYSIWYG editor.
How manage your content
There are two types of actions:
1. Changing existing content. In other words, this would be where you have an existing page and you would just like to change the wording on the page. You might want to add a new paragraph or change a sentence.
2. You want to add a whole new page. This is quite a bit more complex since you need to 'hook' the page into something, like an existing section and category, and/or link it to a menu so that it can be accessed through the menus.
This is more complex. New pages will only appear if you have a menu linking to the page. On the other hand, if a new content item is part of a menu that has the style ‘Blog Content Category', you can just add the item to the category and it will be published automatically. Please review the tutorial again where I refer to content and menus to get an understanding of the relationship between content and menus, and watch the video tutorial on adding new content (again).
Let's do scenario 1 - you need to update the existing content.
This is easiest done from the front end of your website. If you log into the front end through the login box you will be able to update content. Remember that you will only be able to update content that you are the author of. If you log in with the admin username and password that we have provided to you, you will be able to change anything since that is the super administrator username and password.
OR
If you don't have a login box on your particular site to log in from the front, you can log in on the backend, since the editor works basically the same.
